Dance Mat Typing is a free typing web site that helps kids learn how to type correctly and have fun at the same time. It is an introduction to typing for kids in elementary school. It shows you the correct way to place your hands and the correct fingers to push the keys with. Dance Mat Typing has four stages and 12 levels to learn typing.
What I really liked about the site is that it is very fun and colorful. It helps you have fun while learning something new. I also liked how it gives sounds and things move around as you type.

I wish that the site gave a little bit more information on how the site works and the things that it does. It has an information page that gives a lot of good information but I just wish it had a little bit more than that.
This site could be used at SWMS because it is a great way to learn how to type and I think that a lot of the students here would have fun with it.

As you can see, Dance Mat Typing shows you where to place your hands and what fingers to use for each key. It also gives words and sentences for you to practice typing with the keys that you are working on.
When you get something right, Dance Mat Typing gives different things that celebrate you typing correctly. For example, When you finish the first stage in the first level, singing sheep serenade you. I think that this makes kids feel good about what they have accomplished and what they have learned.
