Kerri Walsh Jennings started her Olympic career in 1999 when she joined the U.S. National team. The next year at the Sydney Games, she played right side for the indoor women's volleyball team. The team ended up placing fourth. In 2001, she changed to beach volleyball and paired up with Misty May-Treanor. As a team, they are considered to be one of the best in beach volleyball. In 2002, they won the Federation Internationale de Volleyball Tour. They were also named "Team of the Year" in 2003. In 2004, the headed to the Athens Games with an 89-game win streak.
They won Gold in Athens, beating out Brazil in the final match. They continued to dominate the beach volleyball field and in 2008, they headed to Bejing. They won Gold yet again and beat their own record in 2008. They won 112 consecutive matches and 19 tournaments in a row. In 2012, the duo was still going strong and on their way to London. The dominated in the early rounds and beat China in the semi-finals. They faced the other American team in the finals and eventually won their third consecutive Olympic Gold metal.
